Warsaw, “The choice to save lives: diplomatic rescue during the Holocaust” international academic conference
As part of the Year of the Ładoś Group, the Pilecki Institute organized an international academic conference devoted to the efforts of diplomats to rescue Jews during the Second World War. Researchers from Poland and abroad gave lectures and debated not only the actions of the Polish Embassy in Bern, but also rescue operations led by diplomats from Czechoslovakia, Romania and Switzerland, as well as further research perspectives. The “Passports for Life” exhibition in both Polish and English accompanied the conference participants throughout its duration.
