Markowa – The Ulma Family Museum of Poles Who Saved Jews in World War II

In 2019, the “Night of Museums” at the Ulma Family Museum of Poles Who Saved Jews in World War II was dedicated to the Ładoś Group – Polish diplomats in Switzerland who saved Jews during World War II by issuing them false passports. The meeting with the Polish ambassador to Switzerland, Jakub Kumoch, was accompanied by a screening of the film “Passports to Paraguay” directed by Robert Kaczmarek, as well as by the opening of two temporary exhibitions “Passports for Life” and “Passports”, devoted to the actions of the Polish diplomats in Bern.

Ambassador Jakub Kumoch and Zbigniew Parafianowicz, a journalist from the “Gazeta Prawna” daily, discussed the involvement of Polish diplomats, the complexity of the passport campaign and the threats that Aleksander Ładoś and his associates faced.
