Diplomats

The history of Kaunas is inseparably connected with Chiune Sugihara, a Japanese diplomat, named Righteous Among the Nations, who issued visas to thousands of Jews which allowed them to escape Lithuania after the beginning of its occupation by the Red Army. The “Passports for Life” exhibition presenting the activities of the Ładoś Group has been available at the Museum dedicated to his memory in Lithuanian and English from 30 September 2021. The exhibition will remain open to the public until the end of 2021.
