Exhibitions,

At the synagogue

22 September 2020
Prague – The Maisel Synagogue

The Pilecki Institute, in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Prague and the Jewish Museum in Prague, presented the “Passports” exhibition at the Maisel Synagogue. It was the first presentation in the Czech capital of the organized action by Polish diplomats who, together with Jewish organizations, saved thousands of Jews during World War II by issuing false passports of neutral countries. This event was partly symbolic. Among the people mentioned on the The Ładoś List are also the names of Jews from Czechoslovakia. Unfortunately, most of them did not survive the war.

The exhibition was opened by Dr. Wojciech Kozłowski, the director of the Pilecki Institute. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Jewish Museum and the Jewish Federation in Prague, and Maciej Ruczaj, the director of the Polish Institute in Prague.
