Debates/seminars/meetings,

Telling the story of a life

28 February 2020
Connecticut – Mandell JCC Innovation Center

There was great interest at the publication’s premiere at the Mandell JCC Innovation Center in West Hartford, Connecticut, in hearing about the history of Ruth Fishman and the activities of the Ładoś Group in Bern. The methodology and work on the reconstruction of the list of people who received passports for life were presented by the co-authors of the publication, Dr. Jakub Kumoch and Monika Maniewska. At the meeting promoting The Ładoś List, Heidi Fishman and her mother Ruth “Tutti” Fishman were present. Ruth’s parents, Margret and Heinz Lichtenstern, along with her and her younger brother, survived the Holocaust thanks to a Paraguayan passport forged by the Ładoś Group. It is this passport that appears on the cover of the publication.
